IAmir Hajimaleki is the Chef Owner of District Kitchen + Cocktails and Oasthouse Kitchen + BarShorties Pizza + Grinders, Keepers Coastal Kitchen and upscale, casual Persian concept, Roya. 

Hajimaleki started his culinary journey at just eight-years-old when he moved with his family from Iran to Austin, Texas. Citing the move as a pivotal moment in his life and career, Hajimaleki attributes the foundation of his passion for food and hospitality to those earlier days spent in the kitchen with his mom and grandmother learning how to recreate traditional Persian dishes. 

Hajimaleki built his career as a chef and business owner opening District in 2013 and Oasthouse in 2015 with his brother Ali. Both concepts feature menus inspired by seasonal, locally-sourced produce. Through their success, Hajimaleki has gained recognition, earning a spot on FSR’s list of “40 Under 40 Rising Star Chefs”. District also landed on OpenTable’s list of “Top Neighborhood Gems” and Oasthouse was recognized as the “Best New Restaurant” in CultureMap’s 2016 Tastemaker Awards.  

In 2018, Hajimaleki launched his latest venture, Roya, a modern Persian concept that honors his family heritage through the use of elevate culinary techniques and fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. A location is set to open in 2022.
